The heart of the interview will really come in part 2. At least that's my fav part where we discuss cybernetic periodization.

And you're making me wait for it. Grr.
Good interview so far. I have to admit that the more I read, the more terrified I am at the idea of putting myself in the hands of a trainer, since it seems that most of them don't know what they are doing. What if I had fallen into the hands of one of these guys at the beginning, when I knew absolutely nothing? I have to say, I'm really, truly grateful that I ran into you at the very start of my journey, Steve. It was you that made me want to actually learn what I was doing, which led me to Lyle McDonald, Mark Rippetoe, Matt Perryman, and Alan Aragon. I consider myself really lucky that I fell into this crowd.

Thanks man. I'm happy as hell you were led in the right direction. Trust me, we all had influences too... so we're all lucky. Unfortunately this "word" is drowned out by the monster that today's marketing machine is in the fitness industry.
You'll like the auto-regulatory stuff. Matt did a great job of explaining it. It might actually be too wordy, but I think it's necessary to pound people over the head with it since we're, as a collective whole, so caught up in The Program mentality, which I've been writing about for years as has Matt. Thanks for checking it out. |

Cool. That whole piece on auto-regulation was gold.

Yea, I really appreciated him taking the time to go into that level of detail. Not that many people will actually read it. Those who do though, will have a much firmer grasp of the subject.

I actually have a better handle on it from the interview than I got from the article he wrote on his site.

It's funny b/c I was a hair away from pulling that question off the table after I saw his article go up the day after I emailed the question to him. He definitely brought out a more detailed response to the question though.
