| General Nutrition We realize nutrition is a very broad subject and wanted a centralized forum to discuss it. Here it is. If you want to discuss a particular diet strategy, the importance of calories, the role protein plays in a diet, or anything else... this is the place. |

I have searched on the internet and on other boards, and haven't been able to find an answer to this question:
Background: After 7 days of low-carbohydrates (and I define low in this case as 20 grams or below) adjoined to a calorie deficit (-600 below Maintenance) along with two depletion workouts (within those 7 days, Lyle Style), I can sweat horrendous (middle back, back of neck, etc), and feel extremely hot on the "first" carbohydrate refeed meal (which can be up to 1,000 calories, and mostly carbohydrates). It normally exhibits itself in about 30 minutes after the first aforementioned meal (I can give an example of the contents of this meal: which is mainly complex type carbohydrates, and no simple sugars as in fruit, fruit juice, as I tend to bloat), but it does not resurface thereafter (during the other refeed meals). I have no other symptoms or reactions other than the "normal" water gain and muscle swelling (and the feeling of being and looking leaner). This can can last over an hour long. I get an intense euphoria (heart beats normal though), an adrenalin rush, and an intense feeling of well-being. All expected, with the exception of sweats and heat. I have sat next to my wife before, and she says she can feel the heat coming from me. Its akin to running around the block in 85 to 90 degree weather in a sweat suit, without the heart rate increase. Insulin sensitivity level and the sudden increase of carbohydrates? Would you have an idea on what biological process (s), briefly speaking, that is taking place that is causing me to sweat and feel hot under these conditions or know where I can read to learn what is happening? Note: I was searching through my old journals and it was a common occurrence, that I never really got an answer to. I am curious is all with starting my goal process in a few weeks. If you have the time I would appreciate it. Many thanks in advance, Steve. Chillen

SNS increase, TEF of carbs, there's been work done showing a relation b/t insulin sensitivity and sensory nerve function, etc.

That ketogenic stuff sounds like its finally catching up to you. You better be careful taking in that much protein with that little fiber.
