Hello,
Is there chance you would be able to enable the RSS feed for this fine forum? I find RSS feeds are great ways to keep track of the new threads that folks are starting, and they also serve as good reminders that I need to visit and post replies. Thoughts? Thanks! Dave ![]() |

How about using Twitter? How would that work with a forum, and what would they require, if anything?

I've never use an RSS feeder nor have I visited twitter.
I'm old school. With all the blogs and sites I like to read, I'm stupid not to learn to use RSS feeds. |

twitter is just stupid... and adds no value.
RSS feeds I can set up - but to me, they really only have value if you are part of 100s of forums and only want the good stuff from the forums and don't want to participate in the community... but that's me.. Twitter = dumb.. (I don't need 150 characters to say it either)

Can someone de-dumb me.
On Lyle's site you can subscribe to receive updates using livefeed. This is more a question for Mal, I suppose. Can I put that on the BI main site? So when I update articles and such people will be notified? If so, would you recommend that or another feeder, if that's what they're called? |

I just use the default RSS reader in IE and Outlook. Google's RSS reader doesn't thrill me, but I use it to access RSSs that I can't normally get at work. I find the Google reader is very good for keeping an eye on Twitter folks, though. YMMV.
I usually only follow blogs/sites/forums that have the RSS feed enabled, as that allows me to keep abreast of everything that is happening with the site, and it reminds me to pop in and participate when I read something compelling. It is probably overstating things, but I find RSS feeds to be the ultimate "reminder". Okay, I'll climb down from my soapbox now. Thanks for listening. ![]() Dave |

So the main site is built using homestead, which is an overpriced web host for dummies like me who actually have no business building web content.
I want an RSS feed on my site so readers can stay up to date with my content. So I asked tech support how to do that. This is what they came back with: Quote:

The won't let me turn on our RSS feed on the forum I admin, so I am no help unfortunately.
If you aren't familiar with the Admin Zone, they have been very helpful to me. Good luck, and thanks for trying to get the RSS feed off the ground. I think it will be worth it once it is up and running. ![]() Dave |

How come Squat RX and Ross Enamait are free floating instead of in a sub-forum?
