Default Burpees

Burpees are the best conditioning exercise ive ever done and its not even close. If you've never done them you should start out slow or maybe start with squat thrusts until you build up to burpees.

They're not for everyone, but if you want to test your conditioning or want a quick cardio session they are perfect.

I did burpee today with pullups at the end of 1 reps. Wow, it's crazy fun. I was able to do 10! (10-9-8-7...3-2-1). I think my goal is to try to go up 1 each week. So next week is 11!.

Default Re: Burpees

I did Ross Enamait's "beginner" burpee/shadowboxing routine once a week or so ago, and it damn near wasted me.

I'm so fat and slow that I could only manage about 8 burpees in 30 seconds, and it was brutal.

They're evil. They're awesome. I need to do them more.

I've never tried the normal burpee challenge yet. Where you start at 20! and finish in 20 minutes but w/o the pullups/chin-ups.

These give me nightmares of being punished at boot camp.

They should probably call these "throwupee's" cuz I'm sure that's what would happen if I did them! Seriously though, I think I'll start throwing in a few of these when my son and I are working out together. I think it would be fun but super, super challenging.

Burpees friggin rock. They make cardio more fun when mixed up in some kind of circuit.

You should think about reading Ross' book Infinite Intensity.
